Contemporary California Residence

Project type

Architectural Plan & 3D Rendering

Date

2026

This project is a study and visualization of the 700 Palms Residence in Venice, California, designed by architect Steven Ehrlich of Ehrlich Architects (now EYRC Architects) as his own home. The house is known for dissolving the line between inside and outside: its glass walls open fully to courtyards, the pool and the mature trees around it. That makes it a clear expression of contemporary California living.

I recreated the residence from plan to finished visualization. I drafted the architectural plans in AutoCAD, studying the layout, circulation and how each space opens onto the landscape. I then built the plans into a 3D model in SketchUp. There I developed my own interior scheme, specifying surface materials, choosing and placing furniture, and designing the lighting room by room. Enscape turned the model into real-time renderings, which let me test how daylight, artificial light and materials work together across the open spaces. Final touch-ups were done with Nano Banana to refine atmosphere and detail.

Original architect: Steven Ehrlich, Ehrlich Architects (now EYRC)
