The Brief
How can a dental office feel welcoming while supporting the demands of clinical care?
Developed through UCLA Extension’s Architecture and Interior Design program, this coastal dental-office concept considers patients and staff equally. My study connects emotional comfort with practical needs, including acoustics, cleanability, durability, and daily workflow.
# Debonair at Ease
Coastal character meets thoughtful care.
Inspired by Ralph Lauren’s maritime heritage, the concept combines warm timber tones, deep navy, textured stone, and modern organic finishes. The palette creates a consistent sense of welcome from reception to treatment spaces.
Spatial zoning and coordinated material schedules address the distinct needs of patient, clinical, and staff areas. Sound-absorbing treatments, resilient flooring, and carefully selected work surfaces support an environment designed to feel calm and function efficiently.
Designing with Care
A site visit to UCLA’s Luskin Conference Center informed my exploration of hospitality and responsible material choices. Research into recycled-content surfaces, renewable resources, lower-emitting finishes, and maintenance guided the specification process.
Recognized with the 2026 “Promising Student Design” award from ASID Los Angeles and the Harold W. Grieve Scholarship, this project reflects my commitment to commercial interiors that bring together purpose, environmental care, and everyday comfort.
